Tutbury Lane between Bretford and Brinklow

Notice

All of Tutbury Lane is now (by 9-Aug-2007) open.  See bottom of this page for photos.

The Northern part of Tutbury Lane (shown in Red on the map) was temporarily closed for major repairs.  It was closed from Feb-2007 till Aug-2007.  A marked diversion was in place, using the route shown in Green on the map.

Note that on Walk 11, the diversion joins up with the main route between points 5 and 6 at map ref 422 778 on the Explorer map 222. All who used the diversion remarked what a good route it is, and how it can be regarded as a short-cut for walk on Walk 11 for anyone who has already seen Tutbury Lane.

Starting during week beginning 23-Apr-2007, the Southern end of Tutbury Lane was also closed (shown in purple on the map).  A marked diversion was in place, using the route shown in Yellow on the map.  The work on this section was completed in about a week, and included repairing all the drainage, and removing the Badger "slag heaps".

More details could be read on the notices at each end of the diversion (photo below shows barriers and notices in place at the "crossroads" at the southern end of the Northern part of Tutbury Lane as they looked on 22-Mar-2007).
