ACWA Working Party

On 15-Nov-2006 the Working Party replaced a stile on the 40-mile route, Map2 just beyond the end of Blind Lane heading for Hill House Farm, Berkswell by a kissing gate.

Wednesday 15th Nov 2006

November Achievements

One more stile replaced, AND one more seat installed.

Plans

The next session will be on:

Wednesday 17th January at 9:30 am to about 1:00 pm
Location: Just east of Berkeswell Road, Meriden GR 246 815
Meet at: Old Road, Meriden near the Queens Head.  We will then move to Berkeswell road in the maximum of 4 cars.
Task(s):
Replacing the last two stiles on walk 21A with k/g

We have reviewed our plans for future working parties.  We confirm we will continue to place some effort in improving the remaining difficulties on the 40-mile walk, but now will give more priority to creating further stile free short (3 to 5 mile) circular walks.  Work on the first (CWCW 21 & 21A) is well under way, and future plans include CWCW 17A.

Dates for 2007 will be announced soon, but are expected to be mostly on the third Wednesday in each month from Jan-Nov.  The first six will be:

  • Wednesday 17 Jan
  • Wednesday 21 Feb
  • Wednesday 21 Mar
  • Wednesday 18 Apr
  • Wednesday 16 May
  • Wednesday 20 Jun

Why not volunteer to join us whenever you can?
