June Achievements

On 20-Jun-2007 a Working Party installed a new kissing gate, replacing a stile at a point one field south of Wood End Lane, and a Wooden Pedestrian Gate replacing one of the stiles on the path going through the garden on The Laurels just east of Coventry Road, Fillongley.  Both are on walk 17A.

A seat was also installed near the kissing gate, and a new WMP near Red Hill Farm.

Plans

The next session will be on:

Wednesday 18th Jul at 9:30 am to about 1:00 pm
Location: One stile in the garden of The Laurels on approach to Coventry Road : Site 15  on map (GR 292 863) plus
One stile at the Fish Ponds in Square Lane (GR 296 867)
Meet at: Fish Ponds Car Park in Square Lane (GR 297 866) [NB - This is correction from earlier info.  PCP 4-Jul-2007]
Task(s): Finish work at the Laurels (replace stile with Wooden p/g) and put a K/g in at the Fish Ponds in Square Lane

Our plans for future working parties are to continue to place some effort in improving the remaining difficulties on the 40-mile walk and other circular walks, but to give more priority to creating further stile-free short (3 to 5 mile) circular walks.  Work on CWCW 17A started in February, and will take most of 2007.

Dates for rest of 2007 mostly on the third Wednesday in each month from Jan-Nov.  The expected dates are:

  • Wednesday 15 Aug
  • Wednesday 19 Sep
  • Wednesday 17 Oct
  • Wednesday 21 Nov

Why not volunteer to join us whenever you can?

Please contact John Green on 024 7650 3044 for further information.
