January Achievements

On 19-Jan-2011 we completed the tasks on this path started on 20-Oct-2010.  The first task this month was to replace the old s/b by the first k/g we installed that day.  SMBC supplied 4 long planks plus support planks, which produced an excellent bridge.

The second task was to replace the remaining stile at the bottom of the steps (where we added a rail on 16-Jul-2008) down from Kenilworth Greenway.  It is always satisfying to complete all the improvements needed on a path!

A sunny day - perfect for photos!  I was not there so Roger took the photos and sent me 24 to choose from.  I chose the 3 above, but if you want to see them all visit the MS Live SkyDrive at ACW Working Party 19-Jan-2011

A very successful morning.  We had no less than 10 people there, but everyone was involved with the work and it did enable us to be finished and be away by 1pm.

From Mon-24-Jan to Wed-26-Jan 3 small WP joined WCC teams and some local residents clearing overgrown shrubs & trees to re-open paths on the definitive routes near Tattle Bank (off the B 4095 just west of Claverdon).  We then put in 9 WMP showing where all the paths should be, and now are!  Visit SkyDrive if you would like to see more photos. We came away in the knowledge that we had achieved a good result!

The next session planned is:

Replace an old wooden kissing gate and a "dodgy" sleeper bridge.  The site is on the walk 1 of our 21 walks book just before Pickford Green Lane.  It's one field in, going east from Pickford Green lane (GR 276 814) - Site 2 on Map) half way to where we worked on
