Next WPPrevious WP ACWA Working Party

On 03-Sep-2014 built 2 s/b on Corley Moor then on 17-Sep-2014 a WP replaced 2 Stiles with 2K/gs on ACW route just south of Bubbenhall, near Broomhill Farm.

xxxx
 The 1st s/b under
construction : 3-Sep-2014

Both s/b nearly
complete: 3-Sep-2014

 All done! : 3-Sep-2014

September Achievements

On 3-Sep-2014 we returned to build two more sleeper bridges at Corley Moor on ACW route just south of the long s/bs installed in 2013.  Each s/b was two sleepers long and two sleepers wide, and we built a raised path (& bridle route level crossing) and drainage channels to ensure all works well.

Another dry and sunny day made working a pleasure.  All tasks completed by c.13:00.  Some of us then yet again went to the Butchers Arms for a good lunch.

On 17-Sep-2014 we returned to install two more k/g on ACW route just south of Bubbenhall, near Broomhill Farm.

 Site 1 "Hedge Stump": 17-Sep-2014

 xxxx
Site 1 finished k/g: 17-Sep-2014

The first k/g looked an easy task, but removing the old stile revealed a hedge stump perviously hidden under the stile step - fortunately the WCC Ranger was still on site and had his chain saw ready to help - but it still needed some hard digging to clear the way.  Fitting the k/g was then easy!

 Site 2 k/g and fence completed : 17-Sep-2014

The second k/g looked more like a challenge, with the "stile" to replace actually being an ancient oak gate attached to everything in sight!  In practice it came out without too much trouble, and installing the k/g was easy but then we had to build the new fences either side producing a smart looking solution.

Yet another dry and sunny day!  All tasks completed by c.13:15.  Some of us then yet again went to the Malt Shovel and enjoyed a good lunch.
