October Achievements

On 01-Oct-2014 we installed two kissing gates at Temple Farm near Fen End. The paths here are not in our immediate area but Solihull Council were very keen to have the stiles replaced and we were happy to oblige.

The two sites were about 400mtrs apart and so needed two distinct teams of four.  The gate at site 1 proved a very easy task and was installed in not much more than an hour.

Site 2 however was more difficult with the team having to dig through a great deal of rubble to set the gate in.  But despite this, all work was finished by 12.30 when most of us went for lunch at the "Tipperary Inn" which, despite what we are constantly told in the old song was NOT "a long way".

Plans

We are planning one WP during November, BUT this will be 5th November and NOT on the 3rd Wednesday as usual.  Details are:

  Wednesday 5th November 2014 at 9:30 am to about 1:00 pm
Location: ACW route just south of Bubbenhall, near Broomhill Farm (GR 356 719)
Park at: Broomhill Farm
Meet at: As above or Site 1 (Gate D)
Task(s):

Replacing three stiles with k/g and one s/b (Gates D, & 2@G)
  See Map for Details

The probable 2014 dates will be:

  •

    Dates for 2015 will probably be 3rd Wed every month Jan-Nov as usual & will be published here after confirmation at AGM on 4-Dec-2014.
