Work Party News

23 October 2013

We built a boardwalk from the sleeper bridge to near the bottom of the slope down from the kissing gate on ACW just south of Meriden Shafts. We also rebuilt the sleeper bridge to remove the sunken plank and restore the plank separating from the main three planks, and cleared out the stream from a bit upstream, under the bridge and then for a long way downstream.

This was the first of two improvements we aimed to do before Challenge 2014. The day was again warm and sunny, though wet underfoot following the previous days and nights of rain. All work was completed by about 2:30pm. Over half of us got to “Queens Head” at Meriden for another very welcome lunch.
