We installed two kissing gates on Circular Walk 2 between Ram Hall and Berkswell.

Kissing gate at site 1 completed within 2 hrs of work starting

This month’s tasks were to replace two stiles with kissing gates just north of Ram Hall on the footpath between Baulk Lane and Berkswell Village on Walk 2 of the ACW Circular Walks Book. These were the first two of five stiles to be taken out of this section of footpath, and are hopefully going to be the start of Solihull’s aim of making our Walk 2 entirely stile free.

One of the gates were installed with very little difficulty whilst the second one required much digging through tree roots in order to seat the gates into the ground. However, both tasks were completed by 12.30 when we were able to drive the short distance to The Bear in Berkswell for a meal, a drink and a chat.
