On 18-Oct-2017, a WP cleared a path near to Tantara Lodge, just off ACW at GR 347 724 to near Cloud Bridge at GR 344 724.

We also had a visit representing Coventry CC, taking photos and videos of some of our team as part of the “Coventry City of Culture bid”. A few chosen from our team were recorded giving a short speech on the wonders we do to support Coventry’s bid.

 

Note 1: This path is not used as part of any ACWA walk, but most years the odd participant misses the turn opposite Tantara Lodge, but then gets back on course from Cloud Bridge! On 19-Aug-2009 we installed the k/g near Cloud Bridge. On this occasion we did the task at the request of WCC.

Note 2: WCC had upgraded one of our strimmers. A new mowing head was fitted which uses the “DuroCut 40.4 size XL 3mm serrated” line pieces. These are easier to fit, do not get stuck and, best of all, cut much better. The few of us who tried it were very impressed.

Our team of 8 achieved about what we expected, and we finished at ca.11:30.

The next WP will be on Wednesday 15th November 2017 at 9:30 am to about 1:00 pm
Location: Hodgett’s Lane (GR 263 768) to slope down to Greenway just before bridge over Greenway – Part of Walks 3/3A.
Park at: Hodgett’s Lane (a few spaces near to GR 263 768 and a few more further along Hodgett’s Lane ca.100 metres near to the NW where Walk 3A goes NE via a k/g)
Meet at: As above
Task(s): Continue to improve further the muddy parts beyond the culvert by improving ditch to NW side, improve the main path. If we have a good turnout, and the weather helps we may be able to finish that stage.
