Work Party News

18 April 2007

We installed two new kissing gates, at the entrance and exit to the “Shetland ponies field”, halfway between Sandy Lane and Wood End Lane on walk 17A.

We also installed a new seat, made from the old step from the stile. This is a delightful spot for a rest, being well away from any road, and with the two nearest lanes very quiet.

The day was sunny, but not too hot to work. We were “helped” by a dozen or more of the herd of Shetland ponies who often live in this field. Note that they came to check our work, even before all the tools were cleared away (see the Telcoms Rabbiting Spade in above photo)
