We installed three new kissing gates on Circular Walk 10, the section approaching Brinklow from Kings Newnham.

The completed new kissing gate at Site 3

This was the first stage of making Path 83 (Brinklow to Kings Newnham) stile-free. When completed it will open up a good 4.4 mile short walk using the northern half of Circular Walk 10.

Finishing touches to the new kissing gate at Site 2

All three sites were basically straightforward, although it would have been better having the opposite handed gate at site 2 – indeed we may have to return to swap gates here at a later time.

A dry and partly sunny day made working a pleasure, and we finished 3 kissing gate by 1:30pm, in spite of extra time spent swapping tools between the three sites spaced about 200yds apart. We had what is probably a record turnout – ten hard workers, plus John in support with coffee, etc. At the end we all went to The Raven, Brinklow for lunch – this time without warning, but the one member of staff on duty managed to serve all our drinks and prepare all our food as quickly as we have had from anywhere else – well done. We will return (with warning) when we come to continue this path.
