The overgrown footpath

In preparation for the Annual Challenge event in April our four-strong work party cleared a stretch of the roadside footpath along the Stoneleigh Road approaching the B4115, removing overgrowing weeds that had encroached onto the path and reduced its walkable width. The increased traffic along this road due to diversions associated with the nearby A46 construction works makes it imperative that walkers and runners use the footpath and don’t walk or run in the roadway.

Along with clearing the weeds the work party also cut back overgrowing sections of the adjacent hedgerow. Having completed the work they then walked the A Coventry Way as far as Stoneleigh Village, litter picking as they went.
