Responding to a request from a regular user of that section of the path our work party took a look at the stile leading in to the last field before the private driveway that serves the farm on Breach Oak Lane. Approaching from the Bedworth side there is no issue but on the Breach Oak Lane side the land is somewhat lower and there was quite a large step down, potentially making it difficult to navigate.

The long step down

On the day in question the sun was already up and the temperature was rising but, fortunately, the stile is located in in an area surrounded by trees which allowed quite bearable working conditions. Furnished with some stout timbers and the necessary tools the work party constructed an additional step below the one existing, thus creating a stile that is much more easily navigable from both directions.

After clearing up, the work party was invited to view a neighbouring resident’s garden where they were very kindly offered refreshments.
